History checks show provenance, valuation apps stop at a number, listing sites charge fees and upsell your buyer — none of them digitise the real maintenance record, let an AI sell on it, and hand a verified report to the next owner, so we do all of it.
Same job. Different maths.
Custodian's Autofile reads a document, categorises it and files it. So does ours. Every figure below is Custodian's own published pricing.
| AutoServiceHistory | Custodian | |
|---|---|---|
| Free plan | Free forever, no card — 10 AI receipt reads a month | Free tier — 2 Autofile uses a month |
| Cars on the free plan | 3 | Not stated in their published pricing |
| Free AI queries from ChatGPT or Claude | 150 a month, from your connected account | Not publicly documented |
| Entry paid tier | Plus £3.99/mo — 100 reads a month | Base £3.99/mo — 5 uses a month |
| Mid tier | Enhanced £9.99/mo — 200 reads a month | Premium £7.99/mo — 10 uses a month |
| Unlimited tier | No unlimited tier — we meter, and we're cheap | Max £24.99/mo — unlimited |
| Pay as you go, no subscription | 50 for £1.50 — 3p a document | 10 for £6.99 · 20 for £11.99 · 30 for £16.99 |
Read the entry tier twice. At the same £3.99 a month, Custodian files 5 documents and we file 100. Before either of you pays anything, the free tiers are 10 a month against 2.
Custodian's Max tier is genuinely unlimited at £24.99 a month. Past roughly 36 documents a month it is the best value in their range, and if you want one flat fee and no counting — a restoration in full flow, a folder of invoices every week — that is a real product and we do not sell an equivalent. Our top owner plan meters. We are built for everyone else: the free tier, and the owner filing a service invoice twice a year.

Checked 8 August 2026. Compiled from Custodian's own published pages. “Does not publicly document” means we could not find it published on the pages we read — it is not a claim about what they have built. Custodian does carry a verified history that travels to the next owner, and they publish their prices openly. If they publish more, we will update this page and date the change.
The whole loop, in one place
Verified history, AI-sold, driven from your own AI
Plenty of tools do one of these — none do all three together, and that’s not a feature, it’s a category.
History that travels
A verified service history the next owner inherits — digitised once, kept for the car’s life.
An AI that sells on it
A 24/7 AI sales agent answers buyers from the record and captures qualified leads.
Your own AI runs it
The only free, open, ad-free MCP you can sell, maintain and buy a car from — ChatGPT and Claude today (Gemini next).
And the extras
Free A4 “For Sale” printout, free V62, manufacturer-record recovery usually within hours from a third-party provider.
Where each one stops
What the other tools do — and where they stop
Four honest contrasts, framed by category — the capability gaps do the work, so no rival is named.
vs. history checks
They verify provenance — finance, write-offs, mileage. We add proof of care, an AI that answers on it, and handover.
vs. valuation apps
They give one number — usually the price they’d pay you. We give an independent valuation with nine market figures and never bid on your car.
vs. listing sites
They charge fees and upsell your buyer. We list free, take no cut, and attach verified history plus AI.
vs. marketplace AI
Their AI sells their own ad inventory. Ours is neutral, open and ad-free — a source your own AI trusts.
